南相馬市において、震災後の高齢者一人あたりの介護給付費が、震災前に比べて約1.3倍に増加しました。
高齢化が進行すると、高齢者が増加することで介護費用が増加しますが、若年層が相対的に減少して家族による介護が少なくなるため、一人あたりの介護費も増加する可能性を指摘しています。
